Optimizing Student-athlete Performance and Well-being via Sport and Position Specific Yoga-based Training Methods
As a holistic training method, yoga provides effective and efficient techniques to manage the unique combined physical, mental, and emotional demands of being an student-athlete (Stokowski et al., 2025; Murakami & Kato, 2024; Polsgrove et al., 2016). However, research has yet to determine how increased sport and position specific customization of yoga techniques can enhance student-athlete performance and experience.
This research is the first of its kind to explore the effects of sport and position specific yoga-based training methods on Division 1 football players’ athletic and academic performance and general well-being. This study’s findings may provide valuable insights for optimal training camp programming.

Reproductive Justice
Using Digital Media to Reduce Community-level Abortion Stigma among US Latines
US Latine women face high levels of abortion stigma (Brown et al., 2022) yet are severely underrepresented in abortion stigma reduction (ASR) research (Urbina et al., 2022). In US Latine communities, specific cultural factors such as religiosity and familism often intensify abortion stigma (Hernandez, 2014; Welter, 2015; Brown et al., 2022).
This research expands the academic literature on stigma reduction theory in digital abortion stigma reduction communication, and it does so while centering US Latine communities, a large, heterogenous, minoritized population with high levels of abortion stigma. This study’s findings may be transferable to other minoritized populations in the US that share the cultural factors of religiosity and familism, providing a foundation for more inclusive theory-informed digital abortion stigma reduction research and practice.
